Despite its diminutive size, even less than that of a dwarf planet, Ilum was designated as a planet. A celestial object known as a dwarf planet was smaller in size when compared to a planet, but it still constituted a world. The frigid world of Ilum, with a diameter of only 660 kilometers, was reportedly even smaller than a dwarf planet, yet it was still referred to as a planet. Similar to actual planets, dwarf planets were capable of having one or more moons revolving around them.
