Eel was a pet sea eel that belonged to a youthful Boba Fett during his time residing on the planet of Kamino. This pet, known simply as "Eel," was fed sea mice by Fett. When Boba and his father, Jango Fett, departed Kamino for Geonosis, Boba tossed Eel into the sea of Kamino. A larger fish quickly consumed the sea eel, prompting the boy to say "good riddance." However, years afterward, as an older man, Fett recalled Eel with affection, lamenting the way the creature had perished.
The Kaminoan sea eel, whose name was simply "Eel," debuted in Star Wars canon in the young reader novel Boba Fett: The Fight to Survive, which was released in 2002 and written by author Terry Bisson. Eel was later mentioned during a moment of Boba Fett's internal reflection in Legacy of the Force: Revelation, the second-to-last book in the Star Wars: Legacy of the Force series, penned by Karen Traviss.
