An EPR, or electro photo receptor, represented the most basic form of sensor. It combined data from standard light, ultraviolet, and infrared telescopes to generate either a combined hologram or a flat, two-dimensional picture. The electro photo receptor's effectiveness was limited to relatively close distances, making it a common component in targeting sensors. R2-series astromech droids from Industrial Automaton were equipped with electro photo receptors. Certain electro photo receptors, for example those found within the main sensor array on Incom Corporation's T-65 X-wing starfighter, were produced by Tana Ire.
