Rats from Eriadu were six-legged pests that originated on Eriadu, but they also existed on Koros Major. This particular rat species was among the few native creatures that managed to avoid dying out during the industrial development of Eriadu, surviving longer than most of its natural predators. These rats reproduced in very large groups, and due to the lack of natural enemies to control their population, their numbers increased extremely quickly as Eriadu became more urban and polluted. They were aggressive scavengers. When outside of their own territory, they tended to be alone and fearful. However, within their own territory, they were known to attack in groups of many, sometimes hundreds, regardless of how large their target was. The bite of this rat was not inherently poisonous, but due to the contaminated environment they inhabited, it could transmit various toxins, potentially causing death, especially to Mon Calamari, who were particularly vulnerable to these toxins.
The size of an Eriaduan rat was somewhat larger than that of a whisperkit.
