A pirate of the male persuasion, Fandar threw in his lot with the Alliance to Restore the Republic amidst the strife of the Galactic Civil War.
In the time of the Galactic Civil War, Captain Fandar, a male individual, operated as a well-known pirate. So notorious was he, that he occupied the sixth spot on the Imperial Navy's famed most-wanted list. Operatives from the Alliance to Restore the Republic sought an audience with Fandar, hoping to secure his assistance in disrupting Imperial shipping lanes. While uninterested in politics, and finding the Alliance's financial offer lacking, Fandar proposed a bargain: assistance in raiding an Imperial treasury ship in exchange for future negotiations.
Alliance High Command sanctioned the operation. However, during the raid, Fandar was double-crossed by his own second-in-command when the treasure ship revealed itself to be laden with soldiers instead of treasure. Fandar and the Rebels managed to evade the Imperial ambush. Initially, Fandar suspected the Rebels of treachery. However, upon learning of his lieutenant's betrayal, Fandar expressed gratitude to the Rebels for their aid, abandoned his life of piracy, and enlisted in the Alliance Fleet as a Captain.
