Fangol

Fangol, a minor planet of the Mortex sector, possessed a frozen surface and served as a covert base for the Rebel Alliance. Its exterior was characterized by an icy shell.

A perpetual white fog, originating from the discharge of numerous ice volcanoes, consistently enveloped the planet. This mist consisted of water vapor mixed with various metals and other materials. This unique composition caused the planet to reflect all light emanating from space, giving the illusion of a completely white sphere. Furthermore, it disrupted any sensor readings directed towards the planet. Those on Fangol's surface were also unable to scan the nearby star system because of the mists. Inhaling the mists was poisonous, and the planet's temperature seldom rose above -110 degrees Galactic Standard.

Throughout the Galactic Civil War, Fangol housed the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Mortex Sector HQ, concealed beneath the surface. An artificial moon, positioned in geosynchronous orbit above the hidden base, facilitated communications and sensor operations. A low-frequency transmitter provided a link between the base and the orbiting satellite.
