Feylis Ardele was a female Human pilot who fought for the New Republic Defense Force during the Galactic Civil War.
As a female Human, Feylis Ardele had previously served as a veteran within the Commenor Militia. She was also a cadet in the New Republic Defense Force in the months following the Battle of Endor. Approximately seven months after that pivotal battle, she was selected to join Rogue Squadron based on a recommendation from Firstpilot Rekush, a trusted aide to Admiral Ackbar of the New Republic. Ardele's proficiency as a TIE fighter pilot caught the eye of Rogue Leader Wedge Antilles, who saw her as someone capable of challenging the Rogues in their daily simulations and providing them with insights into the latest advancements in the TIE Series.
The Commenor Militia specifically trained with TIE fighters to prepare its graduates for the Imperial Naval Academy; however, Ardele harbored no allegiance to the Empire and never enlisted. Despite this, her experience with TIE fighters and the militia's association with the Empire initially made her apprehensive around her new squadron members in Rogue Squadron. However, Rogue veteran Derek "Hobbie" Klivian reassured her that several of them had Imperial training and that none of them held her past against her. He also admired her near-victory against him during a simulator exercise, where she destroyed the X-wing fighter of fellow Rogue vet Wes Janson.
The Empire executed Ardele's family on suspicion of rebel activities. She later developed a romantic relationship with fellow Rogue Avan Beruss, but they kept their relationship secret. Ardele's notable campaigns as a Rogue included the Eiattu Campaign, the Battle of Malrev IV, the Battle of Brentaal IV, and the Evacuation of Ciutric.
