These operatives were tasked with the execution of particular goals set forth by the Operations branch of Alliance Intelligence. Following the completion of their assigned task, the operative would go back to base. After the completion of twenty missions, operatives were compelled to either retire or seek a transfer to a different department. The Galactic Empire also utilized operatives in the field.
