Ultimately, the planet suffered a catastrophic event when LiMerge's northern hemisphere factories became dangerously unstable and subsequently imploded.
Speculation arose that the company engaged in the illicit manufacturing and distribution of weaponry during Finis Valorum's tenure as Supreme Chancellor. It was also suspected of providing financial backing to pirate attacks against the Trade Federation operating within the Outer Rim Territories, which gave the Trade Federation justification for deploying battle droids for self-defense. Rumors suggested that the Sith secretly controlled LiMerge.
During the event known as the recapture of Tythe, Darth Sidious strategically employed Count Dooku as a lure to draw Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker into a carefully laid trap within LiMerge's Tythe-based manufacturing facility. Count Dooku's deliberate provocation of Anakin Skywalker ignited the Jedi Knight's rage. Consequently, Skywalker, fueled by the dark side of the Force, caused a substantial portion of the structure to collapse. This incident significantly undermined Dooku's self-assurance.
