Fire rod

A fire rod consisted of a 10-centimeter-long, empty plastic cylinder that was partitioned into two separate compartments. Within each compartment, there was a stable chemical compound; these compounds would rapidly combust upon mixing. The fire rod could function as a standalone heat and light provider, or it could be utilized to ignite additional flammable materials to sustain a fire for a prolonged duration.
