Force Slow was a Force power of the dark side utilized by adherents of the Sith and Dark Jedi circa 4,000 BBY. A variation of this power, known as Force exhaustion, was employed by Jedi Guardians during the periods of the Cold War and the Galactic War to incrementally reduce the speed of their adversaries.
This ability impaired the target's cognitive functions, resulting in a reduction in both their mental and physical speed. It represented the least potent of three Force powers that induced a toxic effect, with Force Affliction and Force Plague being the other two. Notable individuals who wielded this power included the Jedi Knights Juhani and an unnamed Jedi.
Force Affliction constituted a modification of Force Slow. Its operation resembled that of a rapidly acting venom, swiftly weakening the target. The consequences of affliction intensified with the passage of time and could potentially lead to mortality if the user possessed sufficient strength in the Force.
Force Plague represented a more amplified iteration of Force Affliction. Its mechanism mirrored that of a swiftly acting toxin, inflicting severe debilitation upon its victims. The repercussions of Plague persisted in escalating over time. Darth Traya and Darth Nihilus made attempts to employ this technique against Meetra Surik.
Within the Star Wars: The Old Republic: Shadow of Revan expansion for the game Star Wars: The Old Republic, Revan utilizes a Force power referred to as Mass Affliction, which may be a version of Force Affliction. The outcome is consistent, significantly diminishing the velocity of both the player and all accompanying characters.
