Fortress Keremark

Keremark Fortress, intended as a safeguard for the settlement of Keremark, was constructed on the planet of Risban. Throughout its existence, it underwent constant rebuilding and fortification.

Historical Account

Initially, Keremark Fortress was a defensive perimeter established close to the riverside community of Keremark. As the years progressed, the settlement expanded to the point where the fortress and the town became one entity. Keremark's location, nestled among three ridges, offered a natural defense against potential assaults. During this period, the fortress's age-old walls were enhanced with contemporary materials, bolstering their resilience.

Regardless of how improbable an attack seemed, the fortress progressively integrated cutting-edge defensive technologies. Over the past century, the Noelsse royal family, the region's ruling dynasty, has used the fortress as a stronghold. They have maintained the fortress, leveraging its strategic defensive advantage for their territories. The atmosphere within the fortress was regimented and disciplined, with visitors subjected to mandatory registration and, in most cases, observation during their stay. This was due to the ever-present danger of Imperial agents and infiltration attempts by rival noble houses.

Defining Features

The outermost defensive measure of the fortress is a walker barrier. This barrier, constructed from duralloy and permacrete, featured a combination of a pit system and a towering wall designed to impede Imperial AT-ATs and AT-STs. A five-meter-tall energy fence atop the wall further hampered the progress of advancing soldiers and speeders. The barrier could be breached via two trap-laden roads. An eight-meter-high energy fence, equipped with sensor pods mounted on the fence posts, encircled the entire fortress. Pitfalls and collapsible sections of terrain and roadways were strategically positioned around the fortress to impede troop movement and topple walkers. High-gravity traps, designed to immobilize personnel and smaller speeders, were also deployed. The ancient stone turrets were upgraded with metal alloy panels that were resistant to blaster fire. Each turret was outfitted with a mini-proton torpedo launcher and three double laser batteries.
