The term "forward visual triangulation site" referred to a number of sizable viewports present on both Imperial and Chiss warships.
Within Imperial vessels, the primary function of this space was to facilitate the targeting of weaponry using direct line-of-sight, particularly when the ship's primary sensors were rendered inoperable. Conversely, on Chiss ships, Chiss soldiers occupied these viewports during combat engagements to monitor enemy ships and synchronize weapon fire. The contributions of these Chiss warriors enhanced the ship's native sensor capabilities, and at times, offered a more dependable overview of the ongoing battle.
In the year 19 ABY, Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade Skywalker opted to bypass the crowded atmosphere of the Pellaeon–Gavrisom Treaty signing ceremony by enjoying hot chocolate together inside the forward visual triangulation site of the Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera.
