4OV9 was the identifier used for a specific TIE/IN interceptor belonging to the Imperial Navy.

While conducting a post-repair trial flight in 4OV9 close to Farboon, Maarek Stele found himself in a situation where Admiral Mordon's shuttle came under assault from Rebel Alliance starfighters. Stele successfully delayed a pair of Y-wings alongside a pair of X-wings until Imperial backup forces appeared. Because of his actions, he was granted a chance to undergo pilot training, which initiated his path to becoming one of the Empire's most accomplished combatants.
