There were four primary categories that class four droids were categorized into: locations were guarded by security droids; gladiator droids were constructed to engage in combat against other droids for entertainment; the most frequently encountered type, battle droids, were utilized in standard combat scenarios; and assassin droids, uniquely created with the specific purpose of eliminating organic beings.
