Furlag was a minor figure in the bounty hunter world, known for his prominent, bat-like ears. During the Galactic Empire's reign, he wasn't famous, yet he occasionally collaborated with more notable bounty hunters, such as Zuckuss and 4-LOM. During the early stages of the Galactic Civil War on Ord Mantell, he, along with Zuckuss and 4-LOM, were hired by Skorr to track down potential Rebels. The bounty hunters followed their targets to an Ord Mantell spaceport, where they encountered the Rebel agent Kestrel. They opened fire, but Kestrel managed to escape onto a ship. Furlag's targets successfully fled the planet. Blaming Skorr for the mission's failure, Furlag was extremely angry with him.
Years later, Furlag joined forces again with 4-LOM and Zuckuss, as well as other bounty hunters like the Trandoshan Bossk, in an attempt to seize Han Solo's carbonite-frozen body from Boba Fett. Furlag was among those present during an assassination attempt on Fett on Gall. This attack was designed to distract the Mandalorian so other bounty hunters could take Solo from his ship, Slave I. However, Fett escaped and left the planet. Furlag and the others pursued him in Bossk's ship, the Hound's Tooth, eventually catching up. Furlag was part of the team that boarded Slave I, successfully capturing and disarming Fett. The bounty hunter with bat-like ears was then tasked with escorting Fett to the ship's force cages for imprisonment. Fett, however, outsmarted the less experienced Furlag. In an elevator, Fett activated a hidden crawl shaft, sending Furlag to his death in space.

Furlag, a tall humanoid male with distinctive bat-like ears, a brown-furred body, and sharp teeth, worked as a bounty hunter during the early years of the Galactic Civil War. He lacked widespread recognition or a strong reputation among his peers. Nevertheless, he sometimes collaborated with top-tier bounty hunters as part of a team. In 0 BBY, Skorr, a well-known bounty hunter in the Bright Jewel Cluster, hired Furlag to assist in fulfilling an Imperial bounty targeting an Alliance to Restore the Republic agent named Kestrel, along with other potential Rebels, on the planet Ord Mantell. Skorr was working for Imperial Security Bureau operative Mar Barezz, and he also enlisted the bounty hunting duo 4-LOM and Zuckuss, considered among the best in the galaxy.

Skorr had located the Rebels at a spaceport on the planet, and he, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, and Furlag proceeded there. On the way, Skorr informed Barezz of their progress. As the bounty hunters entered the docking bay where the Rebels were preparing for departure, Skorr identified Kestrel, a young woman who had previously trespassed on his territory, among the Rebels. The bounty hunters opened fire on Kestrel as she fled towards the Rebels' ship, but she managed to board without being hit. Furlag then directed his fire at the escaping ship, but his shots were ineffective due to the distance, and the Rebels successfully escaped. Members of the ISB then arrived, instructing the bounty hunters to stand down as they assumed control of the situation. Enraged, Furlag expressed his frustration to Skorr and departed with Zuckuss and 4-LOM.
