Gabby Wong (王琦珮) is an actress, originally from Hong Kong, but currently working and living in the United Kingdom. She played Wona Goban in the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It's worth noting that in the movie's credits, Wong is credited as Gold Nine, because Wona Goban's name was not revealed until the release of Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide.
Wong recounts that her agent contacted her about an opportunity to meet with the casting director. She filmed her audition, which was then sent to Gareth Edwards, the director. During her audition, she noticed Angus Wright, another actor from Rogue One, who was also there for his meeting. Having been impressed by his performances in the stage productions of Orestia and 1984, Wong introduced herself and complimented his acting abilities. Shortly thereafter, she received the exciting news from her agent that she had been cast as a Rebel pilot. She was then scheduled for a costume and helmet fitting, which took a day, followed by two days of filming. While filming her scenes, she also spent a great day with Richard Glover, another Rogue One actor. Wong also recorded dialogue, but due to the final editing of the battle scenes, the recorded lines didn't quite fit. Consequently, she was asked to return for ADR during post-production. However, in the end, her voice was not used, and Vanessa Marshall provided the voice for her character.
