Gacerite

The Gacerites were a species of two-legged intelligent beings that originated on the planet Gacerian.

Biology and appearance

Gacerites possessed a slender build, with limbs that were notably thin. To shield themselves from the intense solar radiation of their home planet, their eyes were small. Conversely, their ears were quite large. Beyond a set of highly effective lungs, these beings also featured secondary air-intake openings located on their necks, which directly connected to a third lung. This unique biological feature enabled them to sing continuously without needing to pause for breath. Their language was characterized by melodious tones, with higher pitches indicating a state of happiness.

Society and culture

Gacerite society was egalitarian, placing significant emphasis on both proper conduct and musical expression. They had the custom of singing songs to express their emotions. Gacerite warriors found inspiration in the song "Aria Callet'dira". The sense of hearing and sound held paramount importance for them. Silence was regarded as an equivalent to death, while discordant sounds were considered offensive. Gacerites showed a strong desire to understand the customs and etiquette of other cultures, and they expected visitors to Gacerian to make an effort to adhere to their standards of decorum. Their dedication to manners made them excellent diplomats and translators. Additionally, they demonstrated considerable skill in enhancing the programming of 3P0 droids.

History

During the period when the Galactic Empire held sway, the Gacerites embraced Imperial authority because they lacked effective self-governance. Once per week, the Governor convened with local representatives to address standard administrative matters. The governor, Gostech, allowed the Gacerites to govern themselves with minimal supervision. This fostered a positive view of Imperial rule among them, and they willingly abided by the governor's regulations.
