Gage

Gage, a Captain, served as an officer within the Imperial military.

Biography

Hailing from a privileged and affluent family, Gage leveraged his familial ties to rapidly ascend to a position of authority. Despite his elevated status, Gage proved to be an incompetent officer, relying on his connections rather than merit to progress through the army's hierarchy. Characterized by laziness and a reluctance to engage in practical tasks, he prioritized personal advancement over the welfare of his unit, even during critical situations.

Gage's inadequate tactical abilities jeopardized the Imperial defense of Maridun on multiple occasions. For example, he directed his unit to withdraw instead of providing cover for a retreating forward unit, compelling the latter to secure its own retreat. Nonetheless, Commander Frickett commended Gage for his management of Lieutenant Janek Sunber's diligence and interaction with lower-ranking soldiers. During the climactic confrontation with the Amanin warriors, Gage deserted his heavily outnumbered allies, surviving the battle solely due to his cowardly actions.

Upon their return to civilized space, Gage, driven by envy, obstructed his competitor Janek Sunber's advancement to the rank of commander, causing Sunber to be reduced to the rank of lieutenant, despite Sunber's pivotal contributions in the Battle of Maridun.

Behind the scenes

Randy Stradley's three-part Star Wars: Empire: To the Last Man marked Gage's sole appearance.
