Gigauns, also referred to as hatchet heads by the workers residing there, were massive but gentle beings that originated from the world of Ukio. Because of their unique subsonic cells which stimulated seed germination as they migrated, they played a crucial role in the Ukio ecosystem.
Herds of gigauns deviated from their usual migratory patterns during the Clone Wars on Ukio. This occurred when the Separatist tactical droid known as Doctor initiated the second stage of Project Instinction, and the gigauns began to approach crop fields, posing a threat of being trampled.
