Gold Squadron was a squadron of starfighters that fought on behalf of the New Republic.
During 7 ABY, Gold Squadron was comprised of a dozen RZ-1 A-wing interceptors; they provided cover for the evacuation transports as they escaped during the Battle of Folor. The designation was also given to pilots who were training within the New Republic's military.
Around 9 ABY, a Gold Squadron, which was a group of New Republic T-65 X-wing starfighters attached to the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate called the Quenfis, participated in the battle for the Katana fleet. Initially, the squadron received orders to remain in reserve, but after Borsk Fey'lya lost his command, the squadron eventually joined Rogue Squadron in the defense of the surviving Dreadnaughts.
