Gottu, a city warfare expert, served alongside Idow in the Katarn Commandos, a special forces unit led by Lieutenant Judder Page. One of his assignments in 8 ABY involved sneaking into Kal'Shebbol with other commandos to disable the planetary shields, thus enabling the New Republic to liberate the world. For this task, he was armed with both an A280-K blaster rifle and a vibro-ax.
