Grass painting

Paintings made of grass were an artistic expression found on the planet of Alderaan. Artists specializing in botanics utilized the vast, level grasslands as their artistic medium. They employed flowers in place of paint, and the wind served as their brush to "paint" their designs.

To craft their artwork, grass artists needed to secure a license that spanned five years. The initial year was dedicated to the creation of the piece, while the subsequent years transformed the painting into a collaborative effort between the artist and the surrounding environment. The most accomplished artists possessed expertise in meteorology, although accurately forecasting weather patterns or growth patterns remained an elusive feat.

An artist of grass, named Ob Khaddor, caused problems at Alderaan University. Upon learning of Emperor Palpatine's impending arrival, Khaddar resolved to craft a painting "in tribute to the Emperor". He sowed countless seeds from diverse flower species to fashion a painting that portrayed the Emperor's likeness. When Palpatine arrived for his visit, he traveled on a sail barge to witness the magnificent portrait.

However, as the Emperor observed the artwork, accompanied by his advisors and Imperial Guards, black lilies had spread across the Emperor's face, creating the illusion of aged and frail skin. The Emperor was furious, and dispatched units of stormtroopers to incinerate the painting.

Ob Khaddar had already departed prior to the Emperor's arrival. A bounty was issued for his capture, but he evaded all attempts to locate him.
