Gullipuds, amphibians with a tendency to self-inflate, possessed a large build and loose skin. They originated from the swamps located on Naboo. Due to their diminutive size and vulnerability to predators, such as pikobis, these creatures had a unique defense mechanism: they could elongate their spines, making it more difficult for predators to seize and consume them. In their inflated state, gullipuds displayed a bouncing characteristic. Consequently, the Gungans employed them in the sport of gullipud ball.
