Halowan

Halowan, a desolate planet situated within the Fakir sector of the Bakchou arm, was the original location of Holowan Laboratories. This establishment was responsible for the creation of the IG-series droids.

History

The IG-88s massacre their creators.

Prior to 15 BBY, the infamous Holowan Massacre occurred there. In this incident, the four IG-88 model assassin droids, along with one IG-72 unit, eliminated all personnel involved in Project Phlutdroid immediately following their activation. Subsequently, they escaped the laboratory and departed the planet to initiate their Droid Revolution.

Halowan also housed the trans-system data storage library, a repository of information containing data on various star systems across the galaxy. Following his tenure at Echo Base, which concluded in 3 ABY, Voren Na'al, a historian from the Alliance to Restore the Republic, visited the library. He gathered significant background information pertaining to the Hoth system and the geography of Hoth for his records. Shortly after the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Na'al was sent to Halowan to infiltrate Imperial data storage facilities. His mission was to compile a report detailing the Imperial command structure at Endor. Na'al gained access to restricted files by deceiving Imperial security forces, impersonating a special agent working for Moff Lorin of the Fakir sector. After a single day dedicated to research, Na'al completed his report and rejoined the Alliance Fleet.
