Haruspex

Haruspexes were individuals from the world of Darlyn Boda who practiced the art of fortune-telling by reading entrails. Upon receiving a recently deceased toccat from someone, a haruspex would deliver a precise and truthful prediction concerning that individual.

Behind the scenes

The custom of haruspicy, which involves examining the internal organs of animals offered as sacrifices, predates both the Etruscan and Roman cultures. It's worth noting that while the standard plural form of "haruspex" is "haruspices," the Star Wars setting alters this to "haruspexes."
