HoloNet transceiver
The HoloNet transceiver, also known as a holopod, functioned as a holoprojector for communication purposes. The hologram projection pod was a particular model manufactured by the SoroSuub Corporation.
Design
This device, circular in shape, had a diameter of three meters. At its center was a hologram pod housing a central holoprojector. Around the projector's perimeter were scanning and projection panels, allowing it to generate images reaching several meters in height. A control panel, cooling vents, and a field limiter were situated on the pod's side. Similar to all HoloNet transceivers, the SoroSuub projection pod could receive and interpret HoloNet transmissions transmitted via S-thread channels from any location within the galaxy. The extensive deployment of the HoloNet enabled the projection pod to have a functional range that encompassed the entire galactic disc.
History and usage
Projection pods made by SoroSuub were frequently placed on the bridges of Imperial Star Destroyers. One such device was also present in the holoprojection chamber located on the Executor during the time of the Galactic Civil War. Vader utilized this specific pod to communicate updates on the war's status to Emperor Palpatine. During the Virgillian Civil War, the Virgillian Free Alignment installed a HoloNet transceiver aboard the Quasar Fire-class bulk cruiser Flurry, which they had acquired by stealing it from a captured Imperial ship. The Navy commander of the Imperial fleet stationed at Bakura found this circumstance unusual, deducing that the device was likely stolen property.
