A Hoosha was a sizable flying beast, possessing the innate biological ability to generate electrical energy within its body. It utilized this electricity as a weapon to incapacitate fleeing prey. The Hoosha was adept at ambushing its airborne adversaries, delivering a potent electrical shock. This attack was channeled through two slender tentacles, seemingly its only appendages. Beyond its capacity for electrical generation, the Hoosha exhibited the remarkable ability to sustain prolonged flight despite lacking wings or a conventionally aerodynamic body structure.
It is plausible that Hooshas were indigenous to Endor, the forest moon (Endor), as even young Ewoks (Ewoks) displayed familiarity with these creatures upon encountering them. The Ewok Teebo (Teebo) promptly identified a Hoosha attack during an excursion to the Twin Hills (Twin Hills). The specific Hoosha that engaged the Ewoks was, in fact, a kind of pet belonging to the Two-headed Gonster (Gonster), a resident of that region of Endor. The Gonster, who styled himself as a beast catcher, had adopted the Hoosha as a pet after relocating it from an undesirable locale. However, the Gonster remained uncertain whether he had removed it for the Duloks (Duloks) or the Dragon Riders of Poolok (Dragon Riders of Poolok). Regardless, after domesticating the creature, the Gonster assigned it to guard duty, tasked with deterring unwanted individuals from approaching his repository of magical items.
During the Raich crisis (Raich crisis), the Gonster's Hoosha encountered the Ewoks—Teebo, Latara (Latara), Wicket Wystri Warrick (Wicket Wystri Warrick), and Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka (Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka)—who had journeyed to the Twin Hills to confer with the Gonster. Misunderstanding the Ewoks' intentions, the Hoosha launched an attack, destroying one of their skin gliders (skin gliders). Fortunately, the Gonster intervened, calling off the Hoosha upon realizing the Ewoks posed no threat. Following the Gonster's assistance to the Ewoks and the formulation of a plan to resolve the Raich (Raich) crisis, the Hoosha provided Wicket and Kneesaa with transportation to the Raich's cave (Raich's cave) situated within the Dead Forest (Dead Forest). Subsequently, the Hoosha departed, presumably returning to its master to resume its guard duties.
