Hope (MC80 Star Cruiser)
title: Hope
The Hope was a New Republic Fleet vessel, specifically an MC80 Liberty type Star Cruiser.
History
Following Grand Admiral Thrawn's campaign, the New Republic sent a group of ships to the Borderland Regions in order to reassure systems that had been invaded not long before. The Hope, commanded by Captain Arboga, was part of this group, working with a minimum of two other Mon Calamari Star Cruisers. When Imperial forces launched a surprise attack, having tracked a homing beacon stowed away on the Core Courier Service Class 720 freighter named Messenger, the Hope spearheaded the defense against a Carrack-class light cruiser.
Behind the scenes
The depiction of the Hope in "Retreat from Coruscant" shows it as a Liberty type MC80 Star Cruiser, but The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia describes it as an MC80a Star Cruiser.
