The interceptor of the Hornet-class was a streamlined starfighter, resembling an insect, manufactured within the black market for the Tenloss Syndicate.

Its design philosophy mirrored that of the TIE/LN starfighter: prioritizing speed, minimal weight, and effortless large-scale production utilizing inexpensive, readily available components.

Hornets featured slender, curved fuselages, complemented by wings capable of extending within atmospheric environments. The command module was a distinct component, equipped with an emergency ejection system. Despite possessing minimal armor, they incorporated shielded systems and demonstrated exceptional agility.

The laser cannons integrated within the Hornet were capable of being overcharged, effectively doubling their standard damage output, albeit at the risk of overheating. Even under normal operation, the lasers exhibited superior power compared to conventional models.

Background

Initially, the Hornet's usage was confined to the Tenloss Syndicate and select entities authorized by them to operate the interceptor. However, clandestine agreements with various criminal elements and organizations facilitated the Hornet's proliferation beyond its initial sphere of influence.
