House Andrim was a noble family from Kuat. In the past, during the era of the galaxy, House Andrim engaged the services of Trondor Pyn, a starshipwright, to conduct espionage against a competing family, House Purkis. However, Pyn's activities were uncovered by agents of House Purkis, who then coerced him into becoming a double agent, tasked with spying on House Andrim for them. Seeking to escape his obligations to both houses, Pyn devised a plan to detonate the drydock facilities belonging to both families on Kuat, hoping to divert their attention while he made his escape from the planet.
During the time of the Galactic Empire's rule, House Andrim was responsible for creating novel armament systems for the Star Destroyers named Burning Vengeance and Legacy. These two ships were then subjected to weapons evaluations within the Belgaroth system. Suspecting that the Empire might diminish the actual capabilities of the weapons to negotiate a lower purchase cost, House Andrim covertly dispatched an agent to the system to observe the tests. However, the agent found themselves unable to depart the Belgaroth system due to an Imperial blockade. Consequently, Jestra Andrim, representing House Andrim, contracted a team of operatives on Kuat to meet with their spy and retrieve information concerning the weapons trials. Unbeknownst to House Andrim, their adversaries in House Depon had assassinated their agent and substituted them with a look-alike.
