The Howling Crag Clan was a group of Dathomiri witches residing on the planet of Dathomir. During the Galactic Civil War era, this clan was under the leadership of their clan mother, Amaya Kymeri. After a blackwing virus epidemic struck Dathomir, many clan members were infected. To stop the spread, the Galactic Empire eliminated the majority of the clan. Nevertheless, three infected witches—Denkra Kymeri, Naija Kymeri, and Thestriel Kymeri—managed to survive by employing magical arts to resist the disease; they then became known as the Sisters of the Void.
The Howling Crag Clan was originally developed for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Star Wars Galaxies. It was introduced to the game in December 2010 as a component of the "Witches of Dathomir Theme Park" quest line.
