A hub functioned as the central shielding component for shockboxing armor. This diamond-shaped regulator was positioned at the breastplate's center. In addition to supplying scorekeepers and medics with data, hubs supplied power to the shockboxer's armor.
The shield could be deactivated if an ion-charged shockmitt struck an opponent's hub. An ion-out could result from this deactivation. Hub-busters was the term used to describe impacts to the hub.
