Hustru fönster
Hustru fönster, a term originating in Vulanish, was later adopted into the Corellian tongue. Its direct translation into Basic is "the wife in the window."
The Ensterite followed a radical Corellian societal structure that prohibited marital unions with individuals not from the Corellian system or, in the most radical instances, anyone not native to Corellia. For some ensters, the term hustru fönster acquired a different connotation. A wealthy enster would engage in a marriage with another enster, but the "wife" or "husband" was actually someone who entered the union solely for commercial or status-related purposes. The individual's genuine partner would then be "employed" as a gardener, servant, or chef, allowing them to remain near their true love.
The origin of the phrase
The word "Hustru" is the Swedish equivalent of "wife," while "fönster" translates to "window" in the same language.
