Hydra craft were small repulsorlift gunships that operated in aquatic environments. These vehicles often carried laser cannons along with magnetic grapples. The hydra-skimmer was an armored variant of the Hydra craft.
The ship-dwellers employed them to recover materials from destroyed vessels and to engage in combat with the Dragon Lords. In the Battle of Drexel, hydra-skimmers acted as weapon emplacements, fighting both the dragons and the Millennium Falcon.
