Wormhole

A wormhole created by Palpatine

A wormhole represented a tunnel within hyperspace that served to link two distinct realspace locations. While not commonly encountered, they could occasionally function as a route for expedited travel, offering a quicker alternative to standard methods.

Hyperspace wormholes could be artificially generated through the application of a gravitic polarization beam. In his scholarly work, The Book of Anger, Palpatine meticulously described the process by which one could harness the dark side of the Force to establish and govern such wormholes. On one occasion, when the Emperor manifested a wormhole with the intention of consuming a New Republic fleet, the combined might of Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and the pre-born Anakin Solo proved sufficient to vanquish the Emperor and bring about the wormhole's destruction.
