Iceworm

The iceworm, alternatively written as ice worm, was a type of annelid that tunneled through the ice of the planet Hoth. This species was indigenous to Hoth. Hoth's southern hemisphere contained a massive frozen ocean, and the gravitational forces exerted by Hoth's three unnamed moons resulted in cracks within the ice layers. These cracks caused ocean water to shoot into the extremely cold atmosphere. These jets were immediately frozen into ice spires, which contained primitive ocean algae within the tall columns and glaciers. The iceworms consumed the algae by burrowing through the ice, leaving behind peculiar small holes. The wind passing through these iceworm tunnels on Hoth created a strange, musical sound.
