Imperial Propaganda Bureau

The Imperial Propaganda Bureau was a department within the Galactic Empire.

This segment of the Empire held the duty of ensuring news stories throughout the galaxy were appropriately presented, with the goal of maintaining a positive image for Imperial forces. Generally, the public was unaware of their activities until Mon Mothma released the Declaration of Rebellion. Following the Declaration, the Bureau shifted its focus to depicting the Rebellion as a collection of lunatics, pirates, and criminals. Rather than acknowledging the power of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the Imperial Propaganda Bureau presented the Battle of Yavin as a consequence of Imperial inadequacy, while emphasizing the might of the Imperial military relative to the Alliance's weak forces.
