Incinerator rifle

The incinerator rifle served as a tool frequently employed by Bothan spies within the Rebel Alliance, primarily to conceal evidence related to their illicit activities.

Description

While its power output was, in reality, no more significant than that of a typical blaster pistol, the incinerator unleashed a potent wave of thermal energy. This energy disrupted molecular bonds within any target it struck. Upon the target's demise, the incinerator would have already degraded molecular bonds to such an extent that the target would simply lose structural integrity. The incinerator's capacity to automatically disintegrate any object it destroyed allowed for the simultaneous elimination of a target and disposal of their remains.

Variants

A different form of incinerator existed, essentially indistinguishable from an upgraded flamethrower. Similar to a flame projector, this weapon discharged streams of fire. While it possessed the ability to fully incinerate a living being, unlike the initial variant, this second type left behind ash residue if allowed to completely burn a body. Furthermore, disintegrating a living thing with the flame projector version required significantly more time than a few seconds.

History

Bothan spies, alongside other individuals belonging to the Renegade Squadron, were known users of this weapon. The standard incinerator was favored by the majority of Bothan spies, who often paired it with a stealth field generator. This combination proved highly effective during numerous engagements of the Galactic Civil War. Bothan spies would infiltrate enemy lines and unleash their incinerators upon unsuspecting groups of stormtroopers, leaving them with minimal time to react before being utterly destroyed. Conversely, other members of the Renegade Squadron generally opted for the standard flame projector, which was also referred to as the incinerator.
