The INS-444 window installation droid, also known as an installer droid, was a fifth-degree installer droid manufactured by Publictechnic during the era of the Galactic Republic. It was typical for INS-444 units to operate in conjunction with CLE-004 window cleaning droids.

The INS-444 droid utilized repulsorlift technology and had a pair of magnatomic grip pads. These pads were essential for firmly holding a window pane, both during transit to the installation site and while the installation was underway. The droids were required to exercise extreme caution when handling materials like Clari-crystalline or glass, which were preferred over transparisteel by many Coruscanti residents. This was due to the risk of airspeeders accidentally colliding with and shattering the panes. Larger panes often necessitated the coordinated effort of two INS droids. The INS-444 featured three manipulator arms to securely affix the pane to the window frame. Additionally, testing probes on its upper arms were used to examine the frame, ensuring a complete airtight seal.
The INS-444 droids were a familiar sight within Galactic City on Coruscant, valued for their capability to service even the tallest structures on the city-planet. An INS-444 unit referred to as "Mick" and its counterpart were responsible for replacing a window pane in Senator Padmé Amidala's apartment in 22 BBY. This replacement was necessary after Obi-Wan Kenobi crashed through the window while pursuing an ASN-121 assassin droid. These particular droids remained in service through the Galactic Civil War and in the years that followed.
