An RA-7 protocol droid working as an Imperial inventory droid
An inventory droid was a type of droid responsible for recording each item and crew member present on board Imperial cargo ship vessels, ensuring the secure and timely arrival of the ship's contents. One example is AP-5, a blue colored RA-7 protocol droid who fulfilled the role of inventory droid on Cargo transport 241. This transport was taken from Horizon Base by Chopper, the rebel astromech. To guarantee organization and the safe, punctual arrival of goods, Imperial cargo ships were mandated to have an inventory droid to track and monitor all the cargo. These droids were also tasked with logging every item and crew member on the transport and had the capability to access the Imperial data network.
