Issori were humanoid creatures that were both carnivorous and amphibious. They were native to the planet Issor.
The species reproduced by laying eggs; female Issori deposited eggs which were then fertilized by a packet of agents produced by a male. Their social structure, a caste system, was directly tied to their reproductive processes.

The caste of the female parent determined the caste to which the offspring would belong, while the male parent's caste rank determined the offspring's rank within that caste. Furthermore, the male's caste played a crucial role in regulating political alliances between the families involved, as all breedings were negotiated with political motivations. An intra-caste breeding, known as a Whoon-cha, involved two members of the nobility mating to enhance their families' standing within the ruling caste. An inter-caste breeding within a realm, referred to as a Whoon-li, involved a noble and a member of a lower caste. A Vuin-cha was the breeding of nobles originating from different realms. A Vuin-li, which involved a noble breeding with a commoner from outside the realm, was a rare occurrence.
Any breeding that occurred outside of these sanctioned categories resulted in a vrecje, which translates to "stranger." These individuals were not considered true Issori and were killed like animals. The concept of love was not a factor in Issori societal relationships. They viewed it as a potential outcome of the matchings, but one that would eventually end and was ultimately insignificant. The Odenji were a related aquatic species.
Issori names consisted of three parts. The first part was a letter from the alphabet, used by the family who negotiated the breeding to signify a political breeding union. The second part was the mother's name, and the third was the child's given name. The child's name was chosen to combine with the first part of the name to create a number that symbolized prosperity.
They were governed by a two-chamber legislature, comprised of both Issori and Odenji representatives. The politicians were chosen by their respective species, and they served for the entirety of their lives.
