As an early advocate for Palpatine, he primarily remained on Coruscant, offering counsel and entrusting the routine management of the sector's governance to Governor Zafiel Snopps of Corulag.
In the time leading up to the Battle of Yavin, Caglio backed the selection of Gerald Weizel as the Governor of Chandrila. This endorsement represented a notable triumph for Grand Admiral [Rufaan Tigellinus](/article/rufaan_tigellinus], Weizel's benefactor, given that Caglio had previously been a staunch supporter of Grand Moff Traeda, one of Tigellinus's rivals.
Vastin Caglio was his son.
