The spouse of George R. Binks was a Gungan Otolla of the female variety. George R. Binks did not marry her because of affection, but rather due to her capacity to provide him with a successor—namely, Jar Jar Binks.
Early in his life, Jar Jar displayed indications of being awkward, which greatly upset his father. During a whaling excursion with his family, Jar Jar's awkwardness caused a shipwreck that almost resulted in death. Enraged by Jar Jar's actions, George tried to deceive him into swimming to get assistance, fully aware that Jar Jar would not survive the attempt, but his wife intervened. George was so filled with hopelessness that he tried to commit suicide, but he was unsuccessful, as he regained consciousness shortly thereafter.
Following his exile from Otoh Gunga around 32 BBY, Jar Jar became an orphan.
