Jedi Grand Council

The Jedi Grand Council functioned as the ruling organization for the Jedi Order's Jedi Lords throughout the era of the New Sith Wars.

Overview

During the New Sith Wars, the Jedi Grand Council was established, separate from the Jedi High Council. This Grand Council served as an alternative governing entity within the Jedi Order, operating independently of the High Council's authority. It comprised Jedi who had assumed the title of Lord in various regions of the galaxy. These Lords protected their territories by establishing feudal kingdoms and fiefdoms. The Grand Council convened to make decisions that affected this collective group of Lords.

In the final decade of the war, when the Brotherhood of Darkness emerged, the Grand Council convened for one last time. They unanimously declared their support for the Army of Light, an idea conceived by Lord Hoth as a response to the perceived ineffectiveness of the High Council. This decision placed all feudal holdings and their respective vassals under Hoth's command as he pursued the Brotherhood across the Outer Rim Territories, ultimately leading them to their final battle during the Ruusan campaign. The Council's choice to unite them was met with dismay by citizens who disagreed with the concept of Jedi Lords. Following the War, the Council was dissolved during the Ruusan Reformations, which brought about a complete overhaul of both the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic.
