The initial depiction of jetboarding occurred within "Loyalties," a roleplaying scenario crafted by James L. Cambias. This was intended for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Its publication took place in the November 1994 fourth edition of the Star Wars Adventure Journal periodical.
