Jiang Wen


Jiang Wen, known in Chinese as 姜文, is a director. He also portrayed Baze Malbus in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the 2016 anthology movie. His 1993 movie, In the Heat of the Sun, secured six Golden Horse Awards held in Taiwan, with wins for both Best Picture and Best Director. In 2000, his film Devils on the Doorstep was awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. Jiang has received more than a dozen other accolades for his work as a writer, director, and actor in various productions. This includes twice winning Best Actor at China's Hundred Flowers Awards during the 1980s, as well as winning Best Supporting Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards for his part in the 1997 movie The Soong Sisters.
