Julia Russo, who now goes by Julia Russo Stein and works as Director of Merchandising for Grove Corp, was previously employed by Lucasfilm Ltd. for a period of twelve years as the Director of Merchandising within their licensing division. In this role, specifically in the fall of 1995, she officially authorized Topps to produce the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire trading card series. Following this, until January 2000, her duties at Lucasfilm shifted to a part-time position as a creative and business consultant, where she oversaw the merchandising activities for both The Official Star Wars Fan Club's retail website and catalog, and the global merchandise program for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
