Hyperspace jump point

A hyperspace jump point, also known as a hyperspace jumpzone, marked the specific location where starships activated their hyperdrive to initiate travel through hyperspace. Entering the jump coordinates into the navigational computer was a prerequisite for this action. It represented the final opportunity for communication before the hyperdrive was engaged. Conversely, a hyperspace reversion point signified the location where ships transitioned from hyperspace back into realspace. In the course of the Battle of Coruscant, General Grievous strategically deployed mass-shadow mines at these reversion points within the region, aiming to impede the arrival of Republic reinforcements.
