The planet Karra was the original homeworld of the Karran beetles, a non-sentient insectoid species. Capable of inflicting significant harm to living beings, these creatures wielded their sizable mandibles as offensive tools. The Karrans discovered how to command these beetles, subsequently deploying them as instruments of war against opposing forces. It was rumored that Basilisk war droids resembled a hybrid of a Karran beetle and a mechanical Zalorian rock-lion.
